Our Hand Made Wedding

We decided in Jan 2007 to get married on Valentines Day 2007 as it was on a 'Wed'nesday. We'd been engaged over a year and we discovered one was waiting for the other to name a date Lol.
So with 3 weeks to arrange it and very low funds we had a 'hand made' wedding. I made the Invitations, Order of Service and Thank You cards. The favours were cream hexagons with a pale blue flock velvet pattern and little blue crystal hearts with silver 'Thank You' peel offs on top with 5 silver coated almonds inside. The flower arrangements, my bouquest, the bridesmaids pompoms and all the buttonholes I made with ivory roses, silver embellishments and blue-bells. All silk so I could revamp them in my home later to keep. Lol. Waste not want not. My maid of honour made two heart shaped cakes with blue sugar roses ontop. Another friend loaned us her photographer husband for the day. We got the venue very cheaply as it was their first wedding so it was a kind of trial run. I preped food until 1.20 am the night before, carving potatoes and carrots into hearts and mixing up sarnie fillings. The day was fab, the ceremony was lovely and of course I got to marry my soulmate.
